Located in northern Nevada and best known as the capital city of the State of Nevada,
Carson City joins neighboring Douglas County and South Lake Tahoe to make up the
unique and distinctive Carson City retail trade area. The economy of the Carson City
retail trade area is quite diverse and encompasses an estimated population of 139,318
persons. Carson City’s employment base includes a heavy dose of stable governmental
jobs (30.8%) as well as growing manufacturing (14%) and retail (16.4%) employment.
Douglas County, just South of Carson City, (population of 41,259 residents in 2000) is
also aggressively recruiting new manufacturing jobs and recently announced the ground
breaking of a new 300,000 square foot Starbuck’s bean roasting facility. And finally,
nearby South Lake Tahoe (with 42,000 permanent residents and nearly 11,000 hotel
rooms) hosts approximately 3.2 million visitors at its world class casinos and year-round
recreational facilities.
Carson Valley Plaza is a new 305,000 square foot community center just south of the
intersection of Highway 50 and Highway 395, in Douglas County, Nevada. This prime
retail location is strategically located adjacent to the new Wal-Mart Super Center and just
north of the fully leased Target/Home Depot shopping center. Anchor tenants for Carson
Valley Plaza include Border’s Books & Music, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond,
Michaels, Marshalls, Petco and Cost Plus World Market.
There is currently only one space that remains for lease on a Pad at this center. If you would like to discuss
